Why Coding Camps For Kids Are A Waste Of Time And Money

Or… I know you think you know what is best for your child’s education, but coding camps are the application of a solution, where in reality you should attack the problem

I can code, I can code very well. I have worked for some of the largest organisations in the world, I have open source code libraries which are used by millions of people worldwide.

I love coding — and I am there for my kids, if and when they develop a passion for it, then I will be there for them and happily send them to all of the coding camps that they want.

Coding Should Be A Passion

It is for me — I started coding when I was 8 — I loved it and I still do it.

It is artistic, you are creating something, and you get to control a machine which impacts every facet of our lives and it makes me far more productive in so very many facets of my life.

But if you don’t like it… or it isn’t a passion, I am of the firm belief that sending your kids to coding camps is just a waste of time.

“But”, you say, “Coding is the future.”
