Piper —A Poem From The Pen Of My Daughter
Or… Creativity abounds at every age
One of my daughter’s creative outlets is writing poetry, it is a little ad-hoc, however she is only young (she is at junior school). Nevertheless, I promised her that I would publish any work that she spent time and effort on.
As an incentive (and also to encourage her entrepreneurial spirit) I told her that any earnings from this Medium story would be all hers and added to her pocket money.
Enjoy.
Piper
Piper goes out to the sea alone,
Away to the ocean with waves of foam,
Under the waves of seafoam blue,
Piper finds something hidden from view.
Piper used to fear the tide,
She used to go back to the sand to hide,
But now when she is under the sea,
Piper knows she will always be free.
Back to her nest amongst the sand,
Not in the ocean but on the hot land,
Whilst the others are all out seeking,
Piper is back at home peacefully sleeping.
