“Where The Crawdads Sing” — My Favourite Quote [III]
Or… The thirty-eight words which struck a chord with me, and that every father should say to their sons
How To Be A Real Man
A truly engrossing and fantastic read, so much so, that I was looking forward to seeing the movie. However, the trailer left a lot to be desired.
The writing is beautiful, the character development sublime, and it is only towards the latter part of the book that you can see how it wraps together.
My favourite quote from the book:
His dad had told him many times that the definition of a real man is one who cries without shame, reads poetry with his heart, feels opera in his soul, and does what’s necessary to defend a woman.
“Where The Crawdads Sing” — Delia Owens
A mere thirty-eight words — but something that struck a deep chord with me, against the backdrop of the trials and tribulations of Kya, how she was treated and what she deserved.
Read the book.
