Whatever your beliefs, for true personal growth, you must challenge them.

What are your current beliefs on:

  • The earth is round or flat?
  • Gun control works or doesn’t?
  • Abortion is good or bad?
  • Prostitution yes or no?

Are they correct?

Have you honestly looked at the other viewpoint?

Or are you just getting fed news through your filter bubble?

Whether or not you know the answer to these questions (the earth is round but I still look at the other side), the key to intellectual humility is to get as many points of view as possible and not just from your social media feed.

Even founding father Benjamin Franklin learned this lesson:

“I was charm’d with it, adopted it, dropt my abrupt Contradiction, and positive Argumentation, and put on the humble Enquirer & Doubter,”
