Aside: Of the 150 articles 88 (LXXXVIII) and 138 (CXXXVIII) have the longest roman numerals — coming in at 8 characters each. (I am just fascinated by small things
I used to feel guilty about needing 8 hours of sleep, after all everybody gets 24 hours in a day — sleep seems like a waste.
Arnold Schwarzenegger famously said:
“Sleep Faster”
If you don’t sleep enough:
- Lower life expectancy
- Reduces memory and creativity
- Additional weight gain and food cravings
- Higher risk of cancer, dementia, heart attacks, stroke, and diabetes
- Greater feelings of depression and anxiety
As a possible example of the damage that can be done when you don’t get enough sleep — Margaret Thatcher famously only slept for four hours a night — and suffered from dementia in her later years.
I love my sleep now — because the remaining 16 hours mean that I am far more productive in a smaller timeframe.
