“What do you hate most?” From The Mouths Of Babes
Or… A great question from my child and helped me to re-evaluate what I was writing about.
A couple of days ago my child asked me this question:
“What was the one thing that I my what I hated most in the world above all else.”
My answer was simple:
“Injustice and hipocrisy.”
OK, so that is two things — but still, hipocrisy is a kind of injustice.
When there is injustice, there is the inertia that further creates more power to those to whom it benefits, simlutaneously raising more hurdles for those who suffer under it.
Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely.
It also shows a complete lack of self awareness of the privilege that having this power gives you.
When I asked my child the same question, the answer was:
“I hate having nothing to do.”
So I gave him the advice that my mother used whenever I said I was bored or had nothing to do:
“Read a book, or tidy your room.”
