Lefts (elevators for some…) are an excellent way to avoid using the stairs for exercise.
In my apartment (condominium for some) building, the new lifts have a remarkable feature…
Buttons that can select, and… de-select a floor.
For those of you that have mis-pressed a button and wished they hadn’t this is an absolute boon.
Not always a needed feature — but a feature nonetheless that is welcome.
Until…
- Two people get into the left on the same floor at the same time…
- Press the ground floor button seconds apart…
- The ground floor light goes on…
- The ground floor light goes off…
Stand around staring at the door wondering why you aren’t moving…
For those of you that have pressed a button and wished that the light would stay on — this is annoying.
Either way, you can never please everybody.
