The Three Things To Do To Be Present When Presenting [LIX]
Or… Nobody likes presenting — but at least you should be able to get through it
Three Things
“A study found that fear of public speaking is the n°1 fear among Americans. N°2 was death! People fear public speaking more than death! Think about that for a second. That means if you’re going to a funeral, you would rather be IN THE CASKET than giving the eulogy.”
— Jerry Seinfeld
A nice joke, but also true — here are the three things you can do:
- Be The Host
- Divide The Room
- Three Points Of Gravity
Be The Host: Think of a moment when you were hosting something — you are in control
Divide The Room: Into three groups and look at each of them in turn
Three Points Of Gravity: Your feet are two, feel the weight of you as you stand in front of people.
