The Hidden Beauty

The 2.0mm mechanical pencil is a delight to write and sketch with, and is my go-to pencil for drawing — I always carry one with me. At the moment my favourite is the OHTO Sharp Pencil in Yellow, and is great to be able to jot down notes, thoughts, or items that need to be actioned.

It is getting harder to find these specific lead-sized pencils online, or in shops, with the more popular 0.5 to 0.7 being advertised, prominent on websites, and marketed more heavily. Indeed the actual manufacturer’s websites (should they exist) make it difficult to find them, and sometimes do not even carry items which are available for sale elsewhere.

This makes it difficult to find pencils from well-known brands as they don’t even have the information available to you on their own official website. So it is off to the search engines you must go.

Searching can be a hit-and-miss affair, with the algorithms pointing you in the wrong direction. Added to the woe is that there is no standard name to search for, with using…
