OK, so Medium is dropping the 100-follower rule and expanding the network of countries that can accept payments — which is great news!

No longer will you need to play the follow for follower game, which reduces the barrier to entry, however…

You will still need to write good content.

However… even great content will need a helping hand…

There are three ways that people on Medium will see your content through their feed — the articles that are presented are from:

1. Their reading history…
2. If they follow you…
3. If they follow a particular topic (or tag)
