So, this is relatively ‘old’ (in internet time anyhow) news — but something which is still relevant today, and needs to be continually raised and talked about if we are ever going to grow as a society.
I am lucky enough to have worked with someone who did the original website, which started the conversation, my thinking about it, and opened my eyes to the horrors.
From the website:
“In February 2021, Chanel Contos posted an Instagram story asking followers if they or someone close to them had been sexually assaulted by someone when they were at school. Within 24 hours, over 200 people replied ‘yes’.”
As of writing this article — there are 6,756 testimonies about the horrific state of what happens to women in Australia — you need to read through them to fully understand. (Trigger warning — sexual assault).
