Colour blindness — also known as Colour Vision deficiency (CVD) aka affects about seven to eight percent of the population. The majority of colour vision deficiency affects males with less than 1% affecting females.

If the characters on your website have a low colour contrast ratio, people with visual impairments or colour-blindness will find it very difficult to navigate your site.
