Apple eBooks — Please May We Have Fair Use [II]
Or… Whatever happened to the fair use clause with digital books?
Quoting The Unquotable
Reading is one of the true luxuries of life, it takes time, but gives back so much. There is still something quite pleasurable and visceral about having a physical book in my hands, the smell, the feel, the touch —however, I have semi-migrated to reading books on digital platforms
Now and then I would like to be able to use a small snippet of text to utilise it in an article.
An example of this was when I was discussing my favourite quote from the book “Where The Crawdad Sings” by Delia Owens
It is impossible to copy and paste even 38 words — very annoying — so I had to manually type it.
Surely, there should be at least some provision for sharing a small piece of work — especially when it is so accesible?
More typing practice for me, and just a little bit of annoyance.
