Imagine this, I am happily tapping away, have edited and polished my article and am ready to release my self-perceived brilliance in the world.

I add some topics that I think are appropriate, edit the SEO settings, and am all ready to go.

My mouse cursor hovers over the publish button, I click, and hey presto, I wait for the views, reads, claps and follows to roll in.

Not so fast…

As an example — for this article, as the topic is about the Medium platform — I thought that I should add the ‘Medium’ topic:
